Resources
Included below are books, people, podcasts and links to folks who are having the conversation. resources for helping us all “put the story down” and get to work.
We gain more knowledge of self and learn to navigate life when we can learn from others a bit further down a similar path. Ultimately we are all arriving at the same truths in life:
1) You are the hero in your own story
2) Our lives and the contents therein are 100% our responsibility
3) No one is coming to your rescue
Books
These are books that have helped me, and others close to me, to begin either doing the work, acknowledging that there was work to be done, or when we were stuck somewhere in the midst of the work. Therefor, these are some that I highly recommend, with a bit of the reasons why , complete with links.

The Alchemist by Paulo Cuelho is a classic. I’ve probably read this book 10 or 15 times since a friend gave it to me in college. I can’t say enough about the simple but profound truths told in this beautiful narrative about a boy setting out in the world, looking for meaning and adventure.

This is a must read for anyone who endeavors to start anything new. Whether that'‘s career change, write a book, start a podcast, pick up a new hobby or exercise routine. EVERYONE will benefit from Steven’s first hand knowledge and familiarity with and subsequent slaying of ones own inner resistance. A must read

Many of us know nothing about grief, this sacred and vital human experience. Frances Weller is a student of grief and walks the path of teacher and facilitator for many. His book, The Wild Edge of Sorrow is a must read for all of us as he beautifully articulates how we will all lose everything we love, and to learn how to honor these loses throughout our lives can help us to be present for this all too human experience. A friend gave this book to me when I lost my brother and it really helped me to recognize that my resistance to the grief of that loss gave me more suffering and hardship then getting fully present for the wave after wave of emotions that followed his passing. I can’t recommend this read enough.

This book speaks directly to how we create our own reality with our thoughts, often repetitive (with negative leanings) and how we can take 100% dominion over our lives by changing the way we think and speak to ourselves (our inner dialogue). Easier said than done, a worthy read non the less. I’ve read and reread and listened to this book a dozen times. BOOM!

This one is way above my pay grade I’ve slogged through it a few times and recommended it to nay friends who are mechanical or anywhere near a physics of scientific field. Viktor Schauberger is one of those outside the box thinkers who is way more connected to nature and universal truths then mainstream “new science” could ever strive to be. His revolutionary insights into energy and how its generated will at some point be at the forefront of how we harness energy in the future, once we can get past the base human emotions or greed and force that run rampant today in the market and greater society. The Energy Evolution is a great book to put under the xmas tree for any high school and college physics enthusiasts to spark that outside the box thinking and help usher us into a whole new way to think about energy as well as our relationship with nature and the cosmos.

Michael Singer is the real deal. His work on spiritual and personal development is steeped in timeless and ancient wisdom. He delivers key tools and insights into how the our thoughts and feelings create our reality and how to take charge and create the lives we really want. Living From a Place of Surrender is one of those books I have gone back to time and time again when life has thrown me curve balls. Ever returning me to the noble truths of presence and non reactivity.

This book opened my eyes to what Campbell calls “going beyond the myth. “ When we do our own research, we are able to go beyond what we are taught and told about things like science and spirituality. Often able to arrive at our own truths about the nature of reality. Great read!
